Meet Our Fantastic Team:

John Ashcraft
Co-Owner/Lead Technician
I am John Ashcraft, father of two wonderful young men and husband to Tammy. I was born in Moundsville WV and have lived very nearly all of my life in Central Virginia. I graduated high school from Fork Union Military Academy. I have also been privileged enough to live in Tennessee, North Carolina, North Dakota, Maryland, Texas, Louisiana and Cairo, Egypt. But my heart was always in Appalachia.
I got into Pest Control as a short term gig back in 1991… (I apparently don’t quite understand the definition of “short term”) You see, I had just completed 6 years of service in US Marine Corps aviation. Unfortunately, I got out just after Desert Storm and could not find employment in aviation due to industry downsizing. I saw an ad in the paper for employment in pest control and since I still had bills to pay, thought “I could spray houses and sell pest control until aviation opens up”. It seemed simple enough. That is when it happened….
I got bitten by the proverbial “bug”. I was fortunate enough to go to work for some great folks who taught me that if one was going to truly do pest control right, there was a lot more to it than just “spraying houses”. There was a real process and science to it. I began to learn more about chemistry, biology and entomology. I learned that besides our brain, a flashlight is our most important tool. I also learned about the symbiotic nature between insects, our homes and the environment at large. Not all bugs and rodents are pests, they have their place in the cycle of life. As professionals, it is our responsibility to educate the homeowner, identify conducive conditions and contributing factors and locate possible entry points. Not Just Spray! Taking the time follow those steps allows for better, long term results. In an attempt to become an even better Pest Control Professional, I have taken the time and initiative to complete Perdue’s course in Pest Control Technology and attend Master Technician classes at Virginia Tech. I have held positions in the industry with; Orkin as a Sales Inspector, Pest Control Route Technician, Termite Technician, Branch Service Manager Dodson as a Sales Inspector and District Manager (managed the Office of the Year for the company 2 of my 5 years in the position, as well as Most Professional Office in the Region three of those years) Holistic Pest Solutions as a founder and owner Now Tammy and I have decided to simplify our lives and get back to the basics of life and family. We want to be able to give our customers (many of whom have become friends) more personal attention, while having the time for family, as well as, tend to our vegetable gardens, fruit trees, fruit garden, three dogs and two cats. Tammy I and I have spent our lives in the service of others because it is not only what we do, it is who we are.

Tammy Ashcraft
Co-Owner/Technician
My name is Tammy Ashcraft and I am a mother of 3 and as most of you know that is the biggest accomplishment in itself. I understand that most people do not mind insects on the outside of their home, but they do not want them on the inside of their home. I am one of those people.
I worked on a 900-acre farm in Fluvanna County and had horses of my own, that I loved dearly. So I understand the surprise when you walk in the feed room and the visitor that day is a mouse running across the floor. He’s cute but you don’t want him there. I have had vegetable gardens and flower gardens all of my life and I understand what insects are good and which ones are bad and which products you can and can’t use in that particular area. I have gone through the Master Gardening classes that helped in my understanding of the soil food web. Most of my life I have been in the customer service industry from being a waitress to being an officer at UVA Hospital. When I worked at Fluvanna Prison I became a Strike Force member in the prison and that is the most dangerous job to have in that industry.
My goal has always been to help and protect people and I have found, being in the pest control industry I can help people not only solve their pest control problem, but also help them understand why they have the problem, and the effects that pest may have on their family. I have been working in the pest control industry since 2011 at Holistic Pest Solutions. While there I have worked with great people, from Co-workers to customers. I have trained co-workers on the ins and outs of pest control and I have helped customers understand why they have the problems they have when it comes to pest control.
I have lived in Fluvanna Co. for the past 22 years and before that I lived in Luray VA. I have the small town beliefs. I believe in supporting the small business owner and the farmers and being there for our neighbors when they’re in need.
This is why John and I started Ashcraft Termite and Pest because we want to continue to help our friends, family and neighbors get the best service possible. We believe the most important customer is the one that is standing in front of us.

Storm Hall
Technician
Well, my given name is George, but everyone really knows me as Storm, which is a nickname given to me by my Mother because I was born during a hurricane! I was born and raised in Fluvanna County which is where I got my love for hunting, fishing and everything outdoors. I graduated from Fluvanna County High School in 2007 and while attending Fluvanna County public schools I played football for both the JV and Varsity teams. Upon graduation I joined the Virginia Army National Guard at the age of 17! I completed my basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Ga. before returning to Virginia to join the scout/recon platoon in Lynchburg, Va. In 2010 I deployed to Iraq, conducting convoy security missions and working on the CSM's security team. When I returned home from being deployed, I went to work at my parents sporting goods store for a few years before my folks closed the store down. The brightest spot during all of that time was that I was able to reconnect with a dear friend that I grew up with. After a couple years of dating, I convinced her that marrying me was a good idea....lol. God blessed me when she actually said YES. We are now raising three amazing children right here in Fluvanna where we both grew up!
Before finding my way into the Ashcraft family, I worked a few other jobs; Fluvanna SPCA, Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women and the Wal-Mart Distribution center at Zion Crossroads. When I am not working, I am likely on either a football field, a baseball diamond or a basketball court. Oh yeah, I coach youth basketball, Little League baseball and Youth football (my true sports love) here in Fluvanna. In addition to my coaching duties, my wife and I are very active in our community year round through various sports organizations such as girls softball, cheerleading and swimming. I almost forgot, I was fortunate enough to be on the coaching staff of the Fluvanna Youth Football 5-7 year old's the fall of 2021 that won the District Championship! As you can see, I am a person of service and a Fluco through and through! Now I am here to help you with your termite or pest control needs!

Marylynne Levans
Technician
I am Marylynne Levans, mother to a beautiful and smart teenage daughter as well as two min pin fur babies, Snoop and Romeo and I live with my partner at lake Monticello. I was born and raised in Fluvanna and graduated from Fluvanna County high school in 2006. Storm and I rode the bus together along with Tammy’s daughter in elementary school! I come from a proud military family, my parents met in the Army and my brother was a Marine. After high school I became an EMT and volunteered with Lake Monticello Rescue Squad and later Fork Union. I worked at caring for creatures and after my daughter was born, I was a waitress and cook for almost 8 years in several restaurants including The Cadet at FUMA and The Village. I have worked as a mechanic, I have done tree work, landscaping, and before I joined the Ashcraft crew, I built hardscapes. I met John by chance at Kidd’s store one day while he was riding a small child’s bike playing with a boy. I happened to have a yellow jacket problem at my house and asked how much it would be to take care of them. My partner and I were struggling with money at the time, and he came out and took care of it, getting stung in the process. This started my journey into pest control. After several years, lots of twists and turns I was glad to take the opportunity to join the Ashcraft crew, we are all like family. I love learning and I am excited to expand my knowledge to help people. Giving people peace of mind and helping our community is my top priority.
